I have been taking 2 naproxen twice a day for a couple of years with very good pain relief. Cardiologist now recommends I stop or alternate with Tylenol. Two weeks in and I am miserable . 67 years old, female, retired nurse. Kidney and hepatic tests are normal. I'm going back to what works.

I have taken this drug at different times for different types of pain. I can't take ibuprofen anymore because it is very hard on my stomach. Tylenol type pain relievers don't help me much so I have tried the naproxen. It is pretty effective at relieving moderate pain and reducing more heavy pain. Each time that I've had to take it for more than one day I get heart palpitations that get worse an...

I take one 220 mg liquidgel each morning and the pain fades almost immediately. The relief lasts nearly to bedtime.

Doctor gave me this for my intense back pain (I am only 18) and the first day I could hardly think or talk strait, even missed an exam from sleeping through two alarms. My pain has actually become more frequent/intense since using. Wondering what my therapist will recommend after hearing this...

Right hip Bursitis has been a problem since 2004. A month ago, I started taking Naproxen with a glass of milk or some food maybe 2 - 3x per week. I was amazed with the relief from the pain, although I still cannot walk long distances, I use a cart to shop and play golf but with far less pain. I also exercise at a fitness center religiously one hour 3x p/week MWF.

I'm about 130 lbs, with enough pain in my knees and joints to greatly reduce activity level. I take one tablet per day only, after evening meal and am now almost back to normal. For me, it's an amazing mental and physical life saving medication.

I took one or two pills per day, every day or two, for about a year and a half. I have never experienced any relief from headaches or other pain from using aspirin or acetaminophine, so I was very excited to have naproxen sodium really WORK. But then I started taking it pretty regularly for hand joint pain and frequent stress headaches. It worked for the headaches and hand pain, but I believe it also caused severe stomach (or intestinal) pain and stomach (or intestinal) inflammation. I had never had problems with stomach pain before in my life. Although I stopped taking the naproxen sodium almost two years ago (and now have NOTHING that I can take to relieve headaches or other aches and pains), I still experience occasional, severe bouts of stomach pain. At least it's not all the time any more. I plan to see a GI specialist soon, but for others taking this medication on a regular basis, if you have new stomach pain, the naproxen sodium may be causing or exacerbating the problem.Read More Read Less

I've been prescribed methotrexate and even enbrel to help with my RA and nothing has work as well as Naproxin Sodium. I take 2, 220 mlg's tablets twice a day and have no ill effects. I even have GERD and it doesn't affect it at all.

I was relieved of the pain in my joints but use of Naproxen Sodium over only a few days gave me mouth ulcers. This happened every time I tried to use it.
