I QUIT ALL CHEMOTHERAPY + AVASTIN.Read More Read Less

well just reporting back on Irinotecan and had a reaction to this drug as well-went into shock during treatment, second treatment, Looks like my body has built up a resistance to this drug as well. Right now on cancer blocker to stop the CEA counts from going higher. Next treatment unknown at this time just trying to stop the growth right now. Be careful and be aware of the reactions you can have so you can act right away before you go into severe shock with this drug. The feeling is a strange feeling like something is spreading thru your body quickly, strange tastes in mouth then ryders. Have someone with you during each treatment to react if these systoms occure. Time is critical for you. Read More Read Less

This is my second go around with chemo, I've been on chemo treament for 20 months. First time 6 months full treatment and then this time 12 months later. I'm using this drug as a replacement for Eloxatin. This drug on the second time for full treatment sent me into shock and I think they almost lost me. So here I am with this drug Irinotecan, but the upset feeling and weakness is also to much to take. I still get the headacks for the avastin and this just adds to it. To early to tell if this is working blood work being done this week to see results. I had to fill in the effectiveness but this is a guess right now till the blood work is completed. I will report back as to what we find this week. Read More Read Less

My mother took this drug as her second line choice. She experienced severe diarrhea and was hositalized for 2 weeks. She was receiving an infusion every other week for 2 treatments. She also experienced significant hair loss. Her doctor took her off this drug.

Many of the nonconsequential side effects have occured with me: hair loss, dizziness and instability while walking. Only occas. do I experience nausea but it is easisly relieved with oral dissolving tablets. I go to the doctor's office once a week and receive this drug thru the 'port' in my shoulder. I've been living with this cancer (that has now spread to my lung) for MANY years and I really hate to say this, but living with cancer and it's 'problems' has just become a way of life (strange but true)for me. Some of the cancer drugs that I've taken in the past have caused more difficulty for me and have given me lasting side-effects that are difficult.Read More Read Less
