I've been diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis, and inject myself every other week. This works great for the first week, but then it seems to start wearing off, and I start to go downhill. Other than that, I've had no side effects at all. This was a miracle drug for me - the only thing besides prednisone that helps me feel better and calms the swelling.

I've been on Humira for over ten years and I see a specialist (gastroenterologist). The worst thing about Humira is that in the event that the pen becomes damaged, or perhaps the med is left out of the refrigerator and becomes ineffective, your doctor and the manufacturer will not help you. Your doctor will tell you that it's expensive and that they don't have any samples. The manufacturer will not provide a replacement. You will have to tuff it out until the next scheduled shipment arrives. In the real world, things happen. Why use a med that's not supported. The best thing about Humira is that it goes off patent in 2023! Competition will arise!Read More Read Less

14 months after starting Humira I was diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma, basil cell carcinoma, melanoma and CLL. Just a coincidence? Listen/read the product disclaimers very, very carefully.

Humira pen I used for 3 months and at the beginning I felt good, but in the second month I developed sinusitis and my eyes were red and dry, and in the third month I could not sleep with sinus and post nasal drip and puffy eyes. The doctor canceled it and now I use methotrexate waiting for results to lower the inflammation.

Had taken Enbrel for many years - for finger nail psoriasis and arthritis - worked well. Humira seems to work ok on arthritis but not on psoriasis - have had to use Fluocinonide on scalp more than I ever did with Enbrel

This treatment has been wonderful. It worked to put my Ulcerative Colitis into remission in a few months, and has kept it there for almost 2 years now.

I experienced pain and stinging with the injection. Found myself putting it off till late at night on the day I was supposed to take it. An RN then suggested using a small piece of a prescription Lidocaine patch on the injection spot to help numb the skin before injection. It worked nicely.

Started shots in June, no effect. Upped dosage to once a week after consulting with doctor, no effect. Just had a 3rd colonoscopy since February -- no change in the inflammation or colitis.

This med has worked wonders for me for past seven years.I was on enbrel for seven years before that and that worked also for me.But It appears that after seven the drugs effectiveness starts to wayne.I am now considering a new biological cimzia or stelara hopefully with same satisfaction as in the past .I might even try enbrel again. After reading reviews I can't find anyone who went back on bio that worked but I'm willing to give it a try.All these drugs are hit or miss but you have to take chances ,hopefully I'll get another seven out of one of my options.Read More Read Less

My Dermatologist Prescribed this for me as soon as the FDA approved it for HS. It hasn't stopped the flair ups but it has made them minimal. At least I don't have to suffer those large painful boils anymore.

I was diagnosed with RA in 2014 and started methotrexate, prednisone, folic acid and Humira subq every two weeks. After the first dose the inflammation and stiffness was reduced about 25%. The Humira was increased to weekly but my RA just seemed to rebound so I was switched to Remicade, then Orencia, then Actemra, all with no relief of symptoms. On Actemra I experienced severe sores in my mouth and extremely high blood pressure. My Vectra DA score is still 44 so I will be changing to Rituxamab soon. If there is still no response I would like to go back to Humira as it was the easiest for me and had the least side effects of all the meds. I hope it works well for others. Read More Read Less

I was on Humira for several months and it was helping my Psoriasis a little, but in 2012 I started getting lumps in my neck and brought them to the attention of my doctor. I had surgery to remove the lumps (lymph nodes) and was diagnosed with stage 3 Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. After 6 treatments with the strongest chemo, I have now been in remission for 4 yrs. I wouldn't recommend it nor Embrel. I was on it and got multiple Pulmonary Embolism's and almost died.

I'm writing this on behalf of my now deceased mother. I would strongly advise anyone who is thinking about using this medication to think twice before putting this potent substance into their body. My mother had ulcerative colitis for 13 years with many ups and downs. Her doctor recommended her taking Humira, but I've heard many horrible things about this drug and even informed her of it. She decided to do it anyway. Just one year after taking Humira, she became sick with strong flu-like symptoms. Her GP told her she just had the flu, despite the fact she as becoming short of breath. I thought this was very bizarre and told her she needs to go to the hospital. Once she did, the doctors ran a lot of tests in the ER. Verdict? Pulmonary embolism, ascites, and stage 4 colon cancer detected in her sigmoid colon. When she was diagnosed, she only lived 3 weeks, even though the doctors claimed "maybe 3-6 months". She was only 64. I know Humira's side effects include cancer and her health was in good-fair condition before she took the drug. She was only on this drug for almost a year (November 2013-October 2014). Just thought I'd write a little cautionary tale before anyone thinks of taking this drug. PLEASE consider the fact that there are many other options. Yes, Humira does reduce the inflammation but HOW it does that is by suppressing the immune system. Basically, it shuts part of it down. That's what suppression means, and it's in the fine print. I will always have a strong voice against this horrible drug. Read More Read Less

After 4 months I developed severe pustular psoriasis as a result from using Humira. I have never had psoriasis before using this medication. I was hospitalized for a week and I've missed work for two months while both rheumatologists and dermatologists have tried to find a solution for the horrible blisters tis drug has caused on my hands, feet, scalp, back and legs.
