I have been taking this drug for 3 weeks. Side effects are minimal, my psoriasis is clearing up, less pain and stiffness in my joints. After being on methotrexate, I was relieved to find that this drug actually works for me without all the side effects of the other DMARD drugs.

I have been on this medication for 3 months. I am still experiencing frequent Diarrhea, extreme Nausea, migraine headaches, hair loss, and increased joint pain, with new pain and swelling in joints previously not affected. I am staying on it 4 more weeks to give it additional time to possibly increase it's effectiveness. I am only continuing to try to deal with this daily/nonstop pain and swell...

The pills make you feel dreadful. Decided that PsA was better than the side effects of Otezla andstopped taking it.

I have been on Ortezla for 8.5 months. My psoriasis was moderate, but my joint pain was terrible. Within 6-8 weeks, I had great improvement overall with the arthritis and about 50% clearing of psoriasis. Some gastric discomfort but not serious to point of discontinuing drug.

The effectiveness of this drug is very good. My problem is that I am a retired school teacher and cannot pay $1,250 every month as my copay. This is the only drug I can take due to prior breast cancer. Very discouraging!!!!!

I tried everything for my plaque psoriasis, topicals, light therapy, methotrexate, all with no luck. I have been on Otezla for 2.5 months. The first month, I saw no improvement, but in month two, the results have been extraordinary. I have full clearing of the outbreaks. There is some residual discoloration that will take time to fade, but I have my life back. I can wear shorts and skirts again and not fear looking strange. I no longer have any itching. And, as importantly, I have had none of the adverse side-effects. My insurance is covering my prescription. In sum, I am thrilled with Otezla!Read More Read Less

I have been taking the Otezla now for 16 days and have had terrible headaches not to mention my joint pain is worse and now I have a terrible rash and hives. I'm afraid I am going to have to stop taking it and try something else.

After taking acitreitin for several years, my Dr. suggested trying Otezla. After 3 months my plaque psoriasis got worse. I stopped at 4 months. I didn't experience many side effects either, just some diarrhea.

I used to reject the idea of depression. Believed it didn’t exist at all. I still want to. In this post, I’m not exaggerating. This review will sound dramatic but won’t exaggerate a thing. My dermatologist gave me otezla at 14 or 15 years old. And a side effect is depression. Didn’t get rid of a speck of my psoriasis. I loved doing everything with my dad on weekends. 1 or 2 months in, I’m not into anything. I just kept thinking about my life and how stupid I was. I didn’t like myself and life in general. My dad saw it and asked what’s wrong with me lately. He asked because I ordered Kid’s chicken strips at a Cajun seafood place we LOVED to go to. But I stopped caring. Stopped playing video games, wasn’t to fun to talk to in general. But the worst thing was me remembering my past constantly and crying at times. And I truly felt everyone was out to get me, like I started thinking my dad didn’t love me because of who I was. Why of all times do I start doing all this so spontaneously? My acception of depression finally began, 20 years old now and I still reject my own thoughts constantly. Sure, call it puberty, I don’t care for arguing, but moral instincts your born with will tell you when you aren’t you. And I started realizing it. I wasn’t excited about anything anymore, still not excited by much. But quitting Otezla for 4 to 6 months was already a huge relief. I still am disgusted with myself, and would like you all to know that as a teen, I took otezla, soon after stopped acting like a kid, notable change in personality from my parents, and truly hated myself to no extent to where I’d cry over my past. Do you and your children a favor. Take Humira or something. Also I felt like throwing up every morning. Don’t care even a little for that though. Much more long term damage was done. And absolutely no progress on my skin.Read More Read Less

I have been taking Otezla since October 2018. Within a few weeks I seen results, I no longer have patches anywhere on my body 100% gone. Some side affects I do have is tension headaches. Not every day but only once a week. This prescriptions says no need to take with meal but I have to eat something before I take it in the morning unless I'll feel dizzy and jittery. Overall I'm so happy with the results. After dealing with psoriasis for so many years I finally can wear shorts n short sleeves shirts (:Read More Read Less

I've only been on the drug for 10 days. Day 3 to 7 I had headaches which were treated with over-the-counter products like Tylenol. Day 8 9 and 10 started getting a throbbing pain in the center of my back. Called the 800 number on my information package sent to me which indicated there would be a nurse on standby 24 hours a day 7 days a week. When I called the number on the pamphlet all they were interested about was my personal information including email. I am in tremendous pain in the center of my back, but can't get any information from the manufacturer. The pain is so bad that I haven't been able to sleep for the last 3 nights. I've been eating 500 mg Tylenol like they're Tic Tacs trying to relieve the pain but no avail, the pain is only getting worse. One would think for the price of this drug that there would be a nurse to answer questions 24 hours a day 7 days a week so that somebody might not lose their life or suffer severe pain. I was basically told to call back on Monday. I was making my initial call on Sunday around 2 a.m. so now I have to wait all the way till 8 a.m on Monday morning. I'd have to say that the torture of using my photo therapy light seems a lot better. But not knowing what's making my back hurt or if it's a serious condition that I need to seek medical attention right away is very concerning to me!Read More Read Less

I've been in it three months. Initially I seemed to be getting better but after 1st month my psoriosis kept getting worse. I broke out in places a never had it before. Then I got allergic conjunctivitis and hives and itching. I had to use Claritin to sleep. I've just gone off it today and hoping I will clear up soon

Skin never inproved. During the 3rd week started to have wide spread rash and hives. Discontinued before the end of the first month. The rash and hives had gotten so bad I was admitted to the hospital for four days. I was so miserable during this time. It has been 7 months since I took the drug and I'm still not over the reaction I had. Please read up on this drug before you take it.

I have lupus with a skin rash that looks like psoriasis and joint pain. I've been on Otezla for three weeks now with very little change in my symptoms. I have sore mouth and gums and throat. I haven't experienced nausea but I've had some diarrhea and I've also had muscle pains and an ear ache. My insurance hasn't approved this drug since I'm also on Xeljanz. I've also had some depression but that could be due to the fact that I'm pretty miserable!

I had been prescribed Enbrel about 10 years ago, no side effects, was 95% clear in 3 months. This time took 8 months to get an appt with derm Dr. She recommended otezla. Have been taking for almost 2 months. Side effects, horrible headache, nasty diarrhea. No noticeable improvement in plaque psoriasis.

Have been on Otezla for 3 weeks now. Had a slight bout with diarrhea, but no other side effects. During the first week the psoriasis on my hand started to heal. By the second week I had very little redness and my skin was healed. At the time of my Dr visit my hand was cracked and bleeding even though I was applying betamethasone steroid cream by the bucket full. My Dr informed me this was going to cause me more damage to my skin and to try the Otezla. I'm sold at this point. I do have severe joint pain in both of my shoulders and I can't straighten some of my fingers on my other hand. I received cortisone shots in both of my shoulders so my pain is moderate now. I can't state if the Otezla is doing anything for me there yet. I will repost results after the cortisone wears off.Read More Read Less

Was on this for about 6 weeks. TERRIBLE side effects... headaches daily, nausea/throwing up daily for the 1st 4 weeks, very altering mood swings/depression. At week 6 I started itching all over my body, and day 3 of that I got hives all over. Called my doctor, she told me to stop it right away. I am 100% happy she told me to.. scary drug! Skin was clearing up a bit but not the results I was looking for.

I was diagnosed early with psoriatic arthritis because bilateral dactylitis is pretty much diagnostic of this. I began taking Otezla about 16 months ago. The first month was a bit rocky with nausea and a little vomiting, but this disappeared and nothing happened with my inflammation. As nine months past I began to notice a lessening of my pain and after the ninth month was completed it was gone and so was the swelling! This is an amazing drug. Try to get the drug company to pay for it thoughâ?¦Read More Read Less
