I was in a lot of pain in my lower back and shooting pain down my leg for months, and had increasing difficulty in walking and sleeping. I had been forced to use a cane, and a scooter to get around and I could no longer walk any distance. I had to stop physical therapy because the pain was too bad and epidural injections seemed to offer little relief. The MRI indicated that I had tissue from a her...

Joint damage from Lime. I took 400mg for seven days. Terrible fever, fast heart, heart pain and a heart attack on seventh day. Dr. said I was allergic to it. I would never take again.

Yes this medication worked. YES I did GAIN WEIGHT while on this medication. While on a diet of between 950 to 1100 calories a day which also included walking and pilates there was unexplained weight gain very quickly within a 2 month period

For 6 mths I've suffered chronic pain in the morning woken from sleep in pain in my joints. It started in my knees, then elbows & wrists. But 2 mths ago it started in my hips & lower back, & as my sleep was interrupted DAILY, so was my life. As soon I get up the pain would go, but the other day it wouldn't. So I went to my Dr who gave me Celebrex. I was scared to take it reading bad reviews. So I rang my Dr & he said take it & let me know how you feel tomorrow. I took it last night & can't believe I waited THIS long to try it. For the 1st time in 6 mths I woke with NO pain & it made me drowsy, which was a bonus. Celebrex WORKED for me so I want to write a POSITIVE review for people out there who are scared off by bad reviews. I'm pain free!Read More Read Less

I have osteoarthritis and muscular dystrophy and live with pain. Celebrex works great for me and so does the generic form. No side effects. I have gained weight but not sure that is from this drug because I've always had a weight problem. I have to get quarterly blood drawn because the med is not meant for long term use and hard on the system but I've been on it for at least a year and a half and no problems with it. I take 200mg daily and doctor won't approve 2 pills a day. I find that it wears off after about 8 hours and want another but I can't have another. If I forget my pill, I know it so there is no question it works for my pain.Read More Read Less

I have severe pain in my hands, back and hips due to osteoarthritis. Celecoxib relieves most of the pain in my hands and lowers the pain in my back and hips. My doctor took me off Celecoxib for several weeks due to another condition and the pain in my hands was almost unbearable. Within two days of resuming the medication, my symptoms were relieved by a considerable amount. To me, this is a wonder drug.

The MRI indicated that I had tissue from a herniated disc and protruding disc was pressing on the nerves so I was scheduled for surgery. I was given a prescription for Celebrex ( 250 mg/ 2 times/day) 8 weeks before surgery to help relieve the pain. One week before surgery, I was told to stop taking Celebrex. The pain has not returned and the surgery was cancelled. I am now essentially pain free. I have taken Celebrex for two months now and I have not had to deal with any side affect. It should be noted that I have taken Protonix for several years so that may have prevented me from noticing any side effect using this drug. Celebrex took just over a week to make a noticeable difference so it should be tried for at least two weeks before concluding it does not help. This drug sure beats electing to have surgery and fusion. I was told the goal after fusion is a pain level 3 or lower. On Celebrex my pain level is between 1 and 0 and shooting pains down my leg have stopped.Read More Read Less

I HAD TO skip a couple of months due to financial reasons. I noticed that out of the blue I developed carpul tunnel symptons in the exact same area on both thumb joints. Has anything similar happened to anyone else.

I've just started taking this med so maybe I haven't given it enough time for my body to get used to it. But, I feel so drugged, tired and my heart feeling like it's doing flip-flops. The pain is a bit better but has a ways to go. Anyone else experience these symptoms?

I have been taking Celebrex for 10-12 years, 2 - 200mg per day. Arthritis is all joints including spine. Also degenerative discs in spine so pain pretty much entire body! Celebrex is my life line!! Got VERY expensive so switched to generic Celecoxib when it can out. It's the same thing but cheaper!!!

I have used for years with moderate success and no side effects. But I had a sudden revelation and started to take this at night and the results were terrific. I had previously taken in the morning. The trouble was I was very stiff in the morning. Now I am relatively flexible in the morning. Its wonderful.

I took this medication for fibromyalgia and a slip on ice. Though the Celebrex eased the pain I developed a rash that covered my whole body after taking the medication for two weeks and had to stop taking it immediately. After stopping the Celebrex it seemed that my pain came back with a vengeance.

I was on this only 7-10 days. Really tore my stomach up! I have had problems with taking NSAIDS in the past. Won't ever take this again.

Has anyone else been changed from Celebrex to the new generic, Celecoxib? I've been on the generic for 2 months & am now experiencing swollen, painful hands & swollen face. This is the only med change I've had. I also take high blood pressure & cholesterol meds.

Celebrex works well but not as well as Vioxx did. It doesn't cause the same stomach issues as ibuprofen but it does does cause some gastric issues.

I suffer severe pain from RA. I use multiple drugs.Low dose prednisone daily plus embrel. However I have days that I just have to much pain, that's why my Dr introduced Celebrex. Works immediately for me. I try not to take it to much because of the other drugs, but it is amazing how much it helps when I need something else.
