AFTER A LONG,EXTENSIVE TESTING AND SEEING NUMEROUS DOCTORS,I WAS FINALLY DIAGNOSED.THE SPECIALIST SAID,YOU HAVE FIBROMYALGIA,ITS NOT GOOD BUT COULD HAVE BEEN WORSE.I DONT KNOW,BUT I DO KNOW THIS DISEASE ROBS YOU OF YOUR LIFE.I WAS ON PAIN MEDS THAT MADE ME FEEL LIKE I WAS FREAKED OUT,BUT, IT HELPED WITH THE PAIN.I WAS FEELING LOST,HOPELESS AND EVERYONE NOTICED THE CHANGE.I FINALLY BEGGED THE DOCTO...

Pain management with Morphine is a very sore subject. After a decade of hurting. Came to realize the treatment is just as bad as the issue. Can see this in cases of severe cancers or massive trauma related pain. and of course cardiac. I feel the long term use of this drug benefits no one.

When I was put on this drug, it changed a lot for me. Before I was using OxyContin, The pain patch, Percocet etc. ( not all together!!) Then John Hopkins told me about Avinza 90mg. At first I wasn't sure, but it's long acting so you don't have the ups & downs in pain, nor do you get that feeling when you first take pain meds, then at the end of 4 hours your in pain again til your next dose. I take one pill at night & im good most the time til the following night. No ups & downs. Occasionally I'll have to take a break thru medication, but not often. I have been on pain meds a long time & this is the best!!Read More Read Less

I DID NOT LIKE THIS MED. IT STARTED FAST BUT ONLY LASTED 15 TO 17 HOURS . I DID NOT LIKE THAT IT WAS SO STRONG AT THE START THEN WAS GONE

I have had chronic pain for over 10 years. Avinza has made it tolerable.I do have to use a laxative, but it is a small inconvenience considering haw effective the med is.

Have been on this medication for 5 years and because it is long acting, I have not had to change doses.

The addition of this drug to my treatment for lupus gave me my life back. I went from barely being able to work 5-6 hour days back to fulltime PLUS. My quality of life improved dramatically (and my familys too).

suffering severe chronic lower back pain from surgery to relocate displaced fractured vertabre which was also causing pain. Avinza with the exception of a SCS device was my last option to block the pain.

Until Avinza I had been having chronic pain and unable to manage on a daily basis. This medication has literally been a lifesaver.

it helped with the nerve damage pain yet created joint and muscle pain all over my body to the point I needed a cane. Made me very mean and tired. Took forever to get my dr. to understand it was the med as he insisted those weren't known side effects. Finaly got off of them and now am on Exalgo and it's like a whole new world.

Very expensive and once a day. It does help, but like any narcotic, you develop a tolerance. I have had the daily dosage increased four times in 16yrs. The best thing I can say about Avinza is that it keeps me functioning and on my feet. Without it, I probably wouldn't be working. But, I still have quite a lot of pain and am not at all comfortable.

It helps some, I have a crushed disc at T-12, when I am in excrusiating nerve pain it does not help at all. I have never had back surgery, although it was recommended. I take neuroton which seems to help more.

I've been suffering with Trigeminal Neuralgia for 8 years. I had brain surgery (Microvascular Decompression) 6 years ago that made it worse. I've been on every different kind of narcotic out there and I always end up developing a tolerance to whichever I'm on, after a length of time. I'm about to attempt another Interventional Procedure (Gamma Knife), and this Neurosurgeon referred me to a NEW Pain Mgmt Physician who prescribed Avinza, and to be honest, I wasn't so sure a 24 hour medication would work for me, BUT, it does! For the first time in 8 years, I am able to say that I enjoy long periods of time during the day with "0" on the Pain Scale with no "drugged" feeling! I must mention however that he did prescribe Mycynta which is a moderate/strong analgesic for breakthrough pain which i will take once, maybe twice a day. As far as I'm concerned, Avinza is a "Miracle Drug"!Read More Read Less

I have a spinal cord injury w/a patch on my spinal cord from two diskectomies (cervical) in which the last one in 07 left me with some residual paralysis on my right side, constant burning and terrible pain. If it were not for my faith, family, & the drugs (including Avinza) I don't know what I would do! Sometimes the pain is almost unbearable! Pain Clinic treatments/procedures don't help!!
