This is primarily a genetic issue not diet/nutrition. I usually eat mediterranean-type food (veggies & pasta) and am 5' 9", weigh 162lbs. Both my father & grandfather had high cholesterol. I was not aware of any side effects but started experiencin...

I have been taking this drug since it first came out with no side effects. My cholesterol is down to the 170's with diet and exercise as well as Lipitor. I highly recommend this drug.

One of the worse drugs I've ever been on - legs got so sore and weak I could barley get up from a chair. I would wake up at night due to soreness in legs. After being off this drug for about 2 years, I am slowly regaining leg strength.

I have always had high cholesterol but didn't start treatment until about 10-15 years ago when my cholesterol read 400. Lipitor works well, and I have used Zetia along with it to bring my levels below 190. I don't, however, follow a strict low-fat diet, which would probably help.

I am 33, healthy, fit and have 'bad' cholesterol close to 300. After taking Lipitor for about 3 months my cholesterol is around 190. I had no side effects. It's a great medication but is expensive even with health insurance.

My experience along with my doctor's approval is that I do not need to take lipitor every day, I take it every other day and it works for me.I was tested after one month and the result was very good.

I have been on Lipitor over 2 years now with great results. My level has come down from 394 to 165, on only 20mg. Diet changes were not enough for me, thanks to my genes.

important to have md. check not only liver function, but Muscle function. My liver function was normal but after 6 months on lipitor my muscle function caused me to move off lipitor, most dr. 's don't check muscle function at test time.
