I took this medicine for 9 months. Everyday for 7 months and tapering off for 2 months. It worked extremely well for me. I went from zero energy to full speed energy, lost weight (which was great)and felt much more positive about everything. Do not stop taking it cold turkey, tapering off is the way to quit.I had no negative side effects, only good ones while taking it.

I have been on Effexor for many years for depression. I have gotten use to it so no more side affects, unless I forget to take it. Then I experience withdrawal. I still have thoughts of not wanting to be alive. I am unable to face certain things....I freeze. (Not the cold freeze)

This has already helped me feel calmer and more focused on jobs I have been doing. Also, I am not as weepy as I have been experiencing even after one dose which I started today!!!

My experience after my first dose: The only way I can describe the side effects of this drug is like getting food poisoning, the flu and a migraine combined with taking a sleeping pill.. thats what it feels like within an hour of taking one 75mg capsule. I was dry heaving, had diarrhea and cramps for 2 days, headaches and major drowsiness. I felt like I was hung over from a week in Vegas. ... Show Full Comment

For me it's worked fine. I'm on a low dose (75 mg) for anxiety, depression, and ADHD. I had a few side effects in the beginning, but nothing major now. It's definitely made my "lows" a lot higher and I feel less on edge. I've missed some doses here and there and have had mild withdrawal symptoms, but nothing extreme. Overall I like this medicine, it's worked well for ... Show Full Comment
