Since taking this medication I have had severe diarrhea (explosive diarrhea) if I eat normal quantities of fruits and vegetables, especially tomatoes. I've had numbness and tingling in my hands and tingling in my feet, itching, crawling skin feeling, backache, weight gain, and repeated bouts of gout. I never had problems with any of these things before taking this medication. I've been on it fo...

Started this med following congestive heart failure. My initial EF was 15 but now at 35. I have made some lifestyle changes along with some other meds and while I cannot say with 100% certainty that my EF improvement was due to carvedilol alone I do believe it has helped. I have experienced some diarrhea but it is usually short lived and I figure it is worth occasional bout. I wish they had a extended release option so I didn't have to take twice a day.

Also have LVSD and can not take drugs like Lisinopril due to allergies. Just started this drug 5 days ago and already feel much better. Blood Pressure is still a little high but should get better after the initial 2-3 weeks of body/heart getting use to it after being on Atenolol for 8 years. Atenolol, for me, wasnt controlling the BP at all. I am so very happy with this drug so far and thank my new doctor for taking the time to find it for me. Diarrhea can be a problem, although not severe for me, and I also have to remember to keep my potassium levels up as diarrhea will decrease it and I have already been hospitalized for that because of diuretics.Read More Read Less

stomach ache this drug causes copies (some of) the exact symptoms of a heart attack, which is alarming - however, once you recognize this, you are good with it

Carvedilol just about killed me. It made me nausea and dizzy with severe constipation and aching of the feet and ankles. It came on its own time table and at different levels of sickness but usually in the mornings or could last up to two to three days. For some reason, going to the gym and walking on the treadmill or riding the bike made me feel better. Some days my blood pressure would be high like 220/105 and the next 98/60. I had to go to the ER three times over six months because I thought I was having a heart attack or something else. I am a 70 year old man that works out five days a week at the gym. I finally got the doctors to take me off of the drug and the first week I was having severe withdraws. I am now feeling great but have constant chest pains so I had to have a Cardiac catheterization last week which the findings were normal. If you search on "beta blocker 800,000" you will see that a study was recently done in England and it was discovered 800,000 individuals over a five year period died of beta blockers like Carvedilol in Europe. UNREAL! I am now off of Carvedilol but hope it hasn't given me lasting heart problems.Read More Read Less
