I took Plavix on 2 different occasions. I was put on the medication after my first heart stent took it for 1 yr. discontinued the medication. I took it again after another heart stent took it for another year I'm now currently not on the medication. I had no problems with plavix other than bruising very easily.

After taking this medication for 14 months I wound up bleeding from the large intestine and came very close to dying! I required 3 pints of blood and 2 saline solutions to get back to any resemblance to normal. This is a very dangerous drug that came awful close to killing me!

After experincing a very mild heart attack with very minor damage, had 3 stents put in was put on Plavix and sent home. 3 days later I had a major heart attack caused by my body reacting to the Plavix causing clotting/blockages in my stents and arteries. I lived, but now have Major Heart Damage and will never have previous standard of health/life I know this only happens like 1 in 500,000 but a simple genetic test would have eliminated the risk and when your the 1 it sucks! testing should be mandatory before prescribing! I was never offered this info or choice. Read More Read Less

It interfered with my clotting so much, I had black and blue spots on my skin. When I blew my nose in the AM, I had blood in the tissue. I had normal bleeding and clotting times before I was put on Plavix. NO problems with blood clots. I hit my head and had a bleed out, my body did what it suppose to do, it form a clot to stop the bleed. SO, why am I even on Plavix?

After a second heart attack in 2003 (first attack was 1984), I had several stents and was put on Plavix for only three months. Had another near fatal event in 2007 and was put on Plavix again and have taken it ever since (along with other maintenance meds). Been fine since 2007. Great medication.

Had stint put in the 18th of April 2014. Doctor put me on Bilinta but had really bad shortness of breath.switched me to Plavix and I've had nausea and been sick to my stomach since taking the first pill. I already have a bleeding uncer and have to wait 6 weeks before I can come off blood thinners so I can have my stomach scoped. Now after reading it can cause bleeding of the stomach and intestines I'm wondering if I shouldn't go back to Bilinta? side effects weren't this bad.
