Put your head down (look at your toes) when spraying the solution and hold your head in that position for 15 to 20 seconds... that should eliminate the bad taste in your mouth.

I was getting a sore throat (more in the vocal chords when speaking) and believe it is from the spray as it goes away when I stop taking it. Is it true it can cause weight gain?

This a the only thing I have found that helps with my sinus inflammation. It does have a bitter taste but not bad. Well worth it.

I live in upstate NY, suffer from allergy fits year round. I use this medication when my flare ups are REALLY, REALLY bad. This is because of the side effects I suffer from it. The bad taste and burning sensation in my nose I can sort of get past but the sneezing fits - 20 at a time was the highest so far - are the worst. I'm taking this medication to STOP the sneezy, runny nose, not make it worse. Once the sneezing fit stops, I get some relief about an hour or so later.. Wouldn't recommend it that's for sure. Especially not for the cost!Read More Read Less

Worked great BUT myself & husband had detached retinas within a week of each other after using the product less that six months. We were using no other medications.

I have severe allergies so I take singulair as my everyday medication. However, I still have the occasional days where I get sinus headaches, this does an amazing job of clearing it up fairly quickly. If my phlegm is super thick, the medicine, at the very least, helps significantly reduce the sinus pressure. It does taste bad and the feeling of thick phlegm slugging its way down my throat sucks (which happens after I take the medicine) but I'd rather have that than have sinus pain for extended periods of time. I have suffered with chronic post nasal drip and congestion for years. This medicine started to work in less than an hour with only a slight after taste in my mouth. My ears even dried out. Did not need to use drops for my contact lens.

I started taking this medicine two days ago after having been on two rounds of antibiotics and predinosone for sinusitis that didn't seem to help with runny nose. Instead of a bitter taste, I have experienced a very sweet like taste which is just as bad as a bitter taste. It has dried up most of the drippy nose and watery eyes, however it has caused me to be awakened in the middle of the night with uncontrollable coughing. I don't know whether to continue taking this in hopes that the coughing will cease or to discontinue and go back to the doctor to try some other medicine. Read More Read Less

While the med worked great for my allergy symptoms, I gained two pounds per week while taking it. The bitter taste was extreme. I did find if I leaned forward slightly while spraying, it alleviated it a bit. My doctor prescribed a different antihistimine,Montelukast, which doesn't work as well. I have managed to lose the weight in a month off Azelastine.

It did help with by Allergies, but had bad muscle weakness from it and was told to stop. One week later i was fine. I tried again two weeks later, but same muscle weakness, so had to stop (weakness went away after stopping second time also) and try something else.

Takes up to 3 hrs. To work. Then nothing. Now ideal for nasal Releive. Or. Headaches.

This medicine has been great for my post nasal drip and constant cough. It really works. The downside is I have insomnia when using it and it taste terrible. Cannot use for extended periods of time as I have to sleep sometime. I stop taking it for about a week and lose the insomnia.

I got this prescription for chronic post nasal drip as no other antihistamine worked for me. It gave me relief in less than half and hour! I did notice if I did too much of a squeeze I could taste it from the back of my throat, but it wasn't that bad, and a drink of water eliminated it. I do admit I haven't been consistent with it, so I can't really tell if it will lose it's effectiveness over time. (I hope not). I do notice though, if I don't use it, my symptoms return. So, after I get on a nightly routine of using this (my post nasal drip is worse at night), and have been using it consistently for about a month, I'll repost my comments. Read More Read Less

I suffer from persistent post nasal drip which has recently triggered uncontrollable coughing fits and runny eyes. No other treatment seemed to work until my doctor prescribed azelastine. The bitter taste is tolerable as a price for temporarily suspending my coughing spasms. Surely, there must be something that can rid me of this curse.

This has been the only thing that staves off the excessive mucus without crazy side effects. It is easy to use, and if you use it correctly no bitter taste or sore throat! It also helped with the swelling of my eyes!!

Works well. I've used it on and off for about four years. I have not experienced any side effects, if any.
