Put your head down (look at your toes) when spraying the solution and hold your head in that position for 15 to 20 seconds... that should eliminate the bad taste in your mouth.

I was getting a sore throat (more in the vocal chords when speaking) and believe it is from the spray as it goes away when I stop taking it. Is it true it can cause weight gain?

Works great. Better than Flonase and less risky. I had a feeling Flonase was getting in my system. Steroid rinse made my sleep problems turn into severe insomnia, heart pounding, feeling agitated etc. Azelastine works as good or better then the steroids and helps with insomnia, an added plus for someone who struggles with sleep issues. I have very minimal residual drowsiness in the morning and it goes away quick. You do have to learn how to use it correctly to prevent too much going to your throat. Read More Read Less

I am in my 70's and have had sinus problems all my life. Lately terrible stuffy nose, hard to breath am on oxygen for COPD so getting air in is extremely important. Dr suggested this Azelastine Nasal Spray After first use it worked and I could breath the best I have in months. After the second day of use though developed a headache that just will not go away, blocked ears and a head that feels like it is going to explode 24/7 for two days now. Have not taken since and just hope that the side effects resolve shortly. I am sure this may work for some, but not me.Read More Read Less

I was told it tasted bad but 3 hours later I was still gagging from it. I did not like the way it made me feel afterwards! My throat almost felt numb and thick for several hours after just one squirt in each nostril.

This is the best non steroid nasal spray. I use this with Allegra and it relieves sneezing fits all day.

My oral allergy medicines quit working against tree pollen & outside air mold. I was miserable for a week and sinuses became clogged. This spray gave me relief and kept me working.

Finally some relief after years of fighting swollen sinuses. Was on Flonase for months, which treated all other allergy symptoms except right side was always clogged, especially when sitting or sleeping. As others have said, there is a terrible taste if it gets into your throat (and can also cause a sore throat), so need to make an effort to not have it take that path by not tilting head back when using. Only drawback is a bit of drowsiness about an hour after taking it, so I just have to time it to ensure I'm not driving during that time. Another plus for me is it seems to cause less dryness in nose than with Flonase. Read More Read Less

I have dealt with a stuffy nose for the majority of my life. The last few years my post-nasal drip has exponentially increased. I used Flonase daily and could not get it under control. I went to my doctor and she prescribed Azelastine to me. It works well when I use it consistently as directed, but I have now experienced a terrible sore throat. My throat has been so sore that I thought maybe I caught an illness, such as COVID. I looked up the reviews of this medication and I found that a small number of the reviews also indicated a severe sore throat. I have stopped taking it and plan to wait until my sore throat passes before trying to use it again. If the sore throat returns, I will know it is the nasal spray. For once, I am hoping I just have a bug of some sort because this medication has worked better than anything else for the post-nasal drip and phlegm that is constantly causing me breathing problems. I would recommend this product if you do not experience any severe reactions.Read More Read Less

I was taking Flonase and getting limited help. After a sinus infection the last part wouldn't go away. Coughing up some phlegm, breathing felt restricted in sinus and upper chest area. Within a couple of days azelasine broke it up and breathing is improved. I sleep a lot easier with less stuffines. I use my inhaler much less. This stuff just works. I use it now ocassionally when allergies kick in. Other than the nasty taste if you use it wrong it works well and no noticeable side affects. My wife had a lingering cough after a severe cold and allergy attack. She used azelastine and it stopped very quickly and went away within a couple of weeks. Read More Read Less

I had to have sinus surgery last year sir to 100% blockage of my sinuses. I've had horrible allergies this year, congestion, runny nose, thick mucus, really bad post nasal drip that causes a chronic cough all day and night, along with severe snoring. I've tried allergy meds day and night, flonase, sinus rinses with no relief. I felt like I was going crazy and tried Azelastine nasal spray, as prescribed by my ENT and finally have relief. All of my symptoms have reduced or gone away. I'm just blown away. I take Zyrtec during the day and Singulair at night and will test going off of them now. Read More Read Less

Azelastine gave me headaches so quit using after about week and everything smells terrible and tastes strange. It's been a couple of months and I'm getting worried that my taste and smell will not get better. It's driving me crazy.

I instantly felt relief! I was so excited. There was an after taste but the next time I just held my head forward a tad longer and it was fine. However a few days of using I had terrible itching in my hands. So bad I couldn’t take it anymore!

Real good for post nasal drip and inflammation so far. Vision and hearing have improvement since mucus had been less and less. My sinuses are no longer puffing out of my forehead and feel way lighter. My whole head does actually.. I havent slept right in years. This usually ensures i do. Only issue is during the day i have a hard time moving due to already having extreme lethargy. But still, got to be grateful when nothing else did much. With flonase 2 a day. Very good together.

60's y/o male with asthma and allergies. Use Azelastine in conjunction with Saline Spray, "Singular", "Flonase", and shots of "Fasenra". This combo has reduced my asthma rescue inhaler use by 95%. After passive doctors prescribed only "Singular" and Inhalers, I found an excellent aggressive pulmonologist Acute Care Nurse Practitioner to attack my asthma over 3 years to get to this point of keeping my asthma under control. I feel the "Fasenra" shots were the treatment that made the most impact.

very nice, immediate relief of sinus & ocular pressure. dries what’s in my sinus cavities out & thins it to pass more easily. very agreeable for seasonal use in teens. works well in combination with antibiotics with ear or sinus infections too. the foul taste and burning are a drawback, but for me it works better than flonase. i don’t really feel tired, at most there’s a small buzz & reduced reaction time.

I have a burning sensation in one nostril to the point that my nose itches more now than when I first started using it! Would not recommend to anyone!

I had never abs hope to never feel this drowsy ever in life. It feels like I took some sleeping pills. I was driving and couldn’t figure out why I was so sleepy. Ended up going to bed around 5pm just waking up and it’s now 6am the next day and I am still slightly tired. I can not do that spray anymore. Be careful if it’s your first time.
