Started seroquel 3 weeks ago and am now finding no mood swings, less anxiety and less racing thoughts. Terrific. Taken at night I can even sleep through the night!

I have bipolar II and was prescribed this medication vas mood stabilizer and to help me sleep. It worked better at the beginning but then I started noticing the side effects. Was forced to be on seroquel 600 mg for 13 years & 150 mg about 10 years more. I gained 100 pounds, experienced 2 hernias, slept wrong on one arm, it has been severely injured for about 5 years now & realistically may never be right. Now my wrist is injured on other arm because of over use. And my bladder has issues probably from losing 100 pounds & because u just don't wake up to go pee during the night while on seroquel. Now I am on 12.5 mg BUT I HAVE A LOT OF TENSION. AND ALL ALONG THE ABUSIVE VOICES IN MY MIND HAVE CONTINUED. IT REALLY HAD A HUGE NEGATIVE EFFECT ON MY BODY & DID LITTLE TO EASE MY SYMPTOMS, in my opinion. BUT I DID TRY LIKE ALL OTHER OPTIONS & THEY HAD MORE SIDE EFFECTS. I will say other than weight gain, less energy & sleeping more it's a pretty painless med. But it sure can cause a lot of trouble in the long run.Read More Read Less

Do not start on this medication. You will totally loose yourself. I am a mother of an 18 year old who was diagnosed with Bipolar, I am also a Critical care nurse who administers this medication. My 18 year old on this medication was someone completely different. He was miserable, a zombie, removed and fatigued. Now off of it, he is bright, lively, smiling, and has a spring in his step. He is literally back from the dark and lonely place that this medication forced him into. The patients I give this medication to, within an hour loose themselves, completely changes their personality and the affects last the whole day. They clam up like a turtle going in their shell and they hunch over and completely loose themselves. This is the best way to describe the affects of Seroquel. Read More Read Less

my doctor prescribed 25mg for sleep because I was suffering from severe thc withdrawal. It has been 10 days and no results at all. After reading all the reviews I suggest that they are all fake or I am just the unluckiest guy on earth? So far it has not been a good experience.

Seroquel is great overall a drug great for bipolar disorder disorder and depression and sleep problems but the biggest side effect I have been having a hard time dealing with losing weight I have gotten so big that the weight is bearing down on my right knee and my joint in my knee hurts bad my doctor said I have arthritis in my knee and that if I lose weight it will get better over time so I have decided my psychtraist is going to have to decrease my dose to wean me off of it before taking me off completely but iam done I have gained too much weight and I can not do stuff normally as I would like anymore so iam just fed up at this point Read More Read Less

I take 50mgs at night, and it definitely helps you sleep. The only complaint I have is the nightmares. I have maybe 4 or 5 per month. Mood is alot better, hallucinations have ceased, and I am calmer during the day.

Have been taking his pill for about 2 months and truly just don't like it. My body got so used to it that it wouldn't let me sleep through the night and I was wide awake with my moods and racing thoughts going beyond control I just couldn't function well I was totally in my own little world just numb to the world and didn't wanna be bothered with anyone

Doctor prescribed me Seroquel for Bipolar II diagnosis. Did very little to help. Felt groggy and dulled with weight gain. Nightmares also. Very unpleasant and frustrating. Switched to Lamotragine and felt much better. This drug might be okay for some people but anecdotally everyone I have talked to about this drug really dislikes it.

I love a happy mania but realize that what goes up must go down. Seroquel has killed 99% of my mania and the resultant crashes it brings. My mind is also more clear and I have less agitation.

I have severe anxiety. bipolar suspected. Side effects of extreme wooziness left after 2 weeks. I sleep well now, anxiety better, mood more stable, I am now less irritable, less angry, snap at people less, I am mentally more focused and no longer suicidal. I feel more normal now.

I've been taking 400mg of Seroquel for 11 years. The withdrawal of Seroquel is extremely powerful. If I don't take it daily I go into withdrawal. It's impossible to fall asleep. I've tried to ween myself off it very slowly 10mg at a time with the help of my psychiatrist but the withdrawal symptoms were still too painful. If you take Seroquel at night at the right dosage your bipolar or psychosis symptoms are abated or more aptly sedated during the day and you can live normally. But I can never get off Seroquel. If I try to take less than 400mg, say 200mg b/c I have to get up early in the morning I'll go into withdrawal all day long. Plus I gained a ton of weight but after 11 years the urge to eat after taking it is gone. Read More Read Less

I took 300 mg and will never use this medication again in my life. I was a total zombie and could not stay awake through the day. No one should ever drive on this medication. It made me voraciously hungry, all I could think about was food and sleep. It drastically slowed my speech and my body movements. I slurred my words, sounded drunk every time I spoke and moved like a sloth. I could barely lift my arms and legs, there is no way aid be able to work or do anything while taking this. It also made my heart race. Stay far, far away from this medication. It’s evil. Read More Read Less

I have always been very skinny. I have always had a fast metabolism and have been very active and energized. I have only been on this med for about a year and had gained over 25lbs. I feel tired and groggy daily. I never have any drive to do anything and now have a LOAD of weight on me. Do NOT recommend.

I was on Seroquel for about three months. It did a great job at treating my mood swings associated with depression, anxiety, and borderline personality disorder; however, this medication made me extremely tired. I was started on a 50 mg dose taken at night that got reduced to 25 mg and then 12.5 mg and the side effects never went away. In addition to extreme drowsiness, this also made me feel foggy which made it hard for me to get through an entire day without needing to take a break / nap.

I was out in this for anxiety and it made my symptoms much worse. It made me restless and I wasn’t able to sleep at all. I was only in this for 8 days and when my psychiatrist took me off I crashed and ended up in the hospital with withdrawal symptoms.. tremors, confusion, sweating, rapid heartbeat and much worse anxiety.
