Grade Your Doctor’s Performance
After your appointment, think about how well the conversation went. Did your doctor make you feel comfortable talking about erection problems? Were you satisfied with the information and treatment recommendations you received? Did your doctor arrange for a follow-up appointment, to check how things are going?
If so, great. From now on, it will be easier to talk about the problem. If the appointment felt rushed or embarrassing, however, consider switching to another doctor. No matter what health issues you have, it’s important to feel comfortable talking with your doctor.
Follow Up
If your doctor prescribes a treatment, such as cholesterol-lowering drugs, blood pressure medications or one of the various treatment options for erectile dysfunction, take them as directed. Schedule regular check-ups to monitor your progress. If you continue to have erection problems, sit down again with your doctor to discuss other options. Almost all erection problems can be treated, so don’t give up.
